Qualifications and Regulation of Naturopathic Doctors

To be considered for admission in Ontario, a minimum of three years towards a baccalaureate degree as well as specific prerequisite courses are required. Upon completion, a four year full-time program must be fulfilled at an accredited college of naturopathic medicine. Once the program is completed, Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Examinations need to be passed to qualify.

The 1925 Drugless Therapy Act is what Naturopathic Doctors are regulated under in Ontario. This is licensed under the Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy-Naturopathy functioned to ensure naturopathic doctors are properly qualified and follow the appropriate standards of practice.
